{"id":2007,"date":"2024-12-24T20:40:14","date_gmt":"2024-12-24T20:40:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/juanbutten.com\/?p=2007"},"modified":"2024-12-24T20:40:14","modified_gmt":"2024-12-24T20:40:14","slug":"the-brutalist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juanbutten.com\/es\/the-brutalist\/","title":{"rendered":"The Brutalist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>por Juan Butten<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decid\u00ed ver <em>The Brutalist<\/em> por recomendaci\u00f3n de nada m\u00e1s y nada menos que mi gran amigo Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s, quien, tan pronto sali\u00f3 de la sala, me dijo: \u201cViejo, tienes que ver esta vaina. Te vas a fundir con esa pel\u00edcula, pero son casi tres horas y media, y ni cuenta te das\u201d. No voy a mentir, lo pens\u00e9 mucho antes de decidirme a ir al cine, especialmente con el fr\u00edo y la nieve que ca\u00edan ese d\u00eda. Pero hac\u00eda tanto tiempo que no me desconectaba del ruido de arte que invade los museos y galer\u00edas de la ciudad \u2014un arte, en su mayor\u00eda, repetitivo y cada vez m\u00e1s homog\u00e9neo\u2014 que decid\u00ed lanzarme. Ya estaba cansado de ver artistas luchando por parecerse entre s\u00ed en cada rinc\u00f3n de la ciudad. As\u00ed que, sin pensarlo m\u00e1s, me abrigu\u00e9 bien y me dirig\u00ed a la estaci\u00f3n para tomar el tren hacia el Village East by Angelika en Manhattan, donde, seg\u00fan mi amigo, encontrar\u00eda una verdadera joya del cine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y aunque hoy en d\u00eda todo es tan instant\u00e1neo, atreverme a ver una pel\u00edcula de m\u00e1s de tres horas me parec\u00eda un reto. \u00a1Imag\u00ednate! Tres horas y 35 minutos de cine, solo para los que realmente amamos el buen cine: el esplendor de las im\u00e1genes proyectadas de forma magistral, un verdadero regalo para los sentidos. En el camino, le\u00ed la ficha t\u00e9cnica del filme, y descubr\u00ed que fue rodado en diferentes locaciones de Hungr\u00eda e Italia entre marzo y mayo de 2023. Un lujo f\u00edlmico para los amantes del cine en su m\u00e1xima expresi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al llegar, compr\u00e9 una Coca-Cola y unas palomitas, y, para mi sorpresa, la sala estaba llena de gente. A penas eran menos de las tres de la tarde, pero entend\u00ed que en esta ciudad hab\u00eda m\u00e1s locos como yo, dispuestos a enfrentarse a este gran reto cinematogr\u00e1fico. Me acomod\u00e9 en mi asiento, la proyecci\u00f3n comenz\u00f3 a la hora acordada, y la sala permaneci\u00f3 en completo silencio. Cero tel\u00e9fonos sonando, cero luces de pantallas brillando, cero murmullos inc\u00f3modos. Me hund\u00ed en el sill\u00f3n, respir\u00e9 hondo y, sin darme cuenta, ya hab\u00eda terminado la pel\u00edcula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al salir, intent\u00e9 hacer lo mismo que mi amigo: describir lo que acababa de ver. Pero a\u00fan no encontraba las palabras adecuadas. Sab\u00eda, eso s\u00ed, que la pel\u00edcula me hab\u00eda dejado profundamente emocionado. Pasaron m\u00e1s de 24 horas antes de que pudiera procesarlo completamente. <em>The Brutalist<\/em> es una reflexi\u00f3n profunda sobre la arquitectura y las relaciones humanas, dirigida por Brady Corbet, quien tambi\u00e9n coescribi\u00f3 el guion junto a Mona Fastvold. El elenco est\u00e1 encabezado por Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones y Guy Pearce, entre otros actores de renombre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La historia sigue a L\u00e1szl\u00f3 T\u00f3th, un arquitecto jud\u00edo de origen h\u00fangaro que emigra a los Estados Unidos en 1947. Despu\u00e9s de un comienzo humilde, T\u00f3th consigue un contrato que cambiar\u00e1 para siempre tanto su vida personal como su carrera profesional. A trav\u00e9s de su figura, la pel\u00edcula explora la compleja interacci\u00f3n entre el espacio arquitect\u00f3nico brutalista y las relaciones humanas, todo dentro de un contexto emocionalmente cargado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el Festival de Cine de Venecia, el director comparti\u00f3 algo que me qued\u00f3 grabado: \"Cuando se redacta una declaraci\u00f3n formal o una nota de intenci\u00f3n, es habitual profundizar en los temas y la est\u00e9tica del proyecto. Pero despu\u00e9s de dedicar casi una d\u00e9cada a poner en marcha esta historia, prefiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para agradecer a cada uno de los colaboradores que hicieron posible la 'pel\u00edcula imposible'. Mi elenco, mi equipo, mi familia... las palabras no son suficientes\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es un honor y un privilegio haber podido ver <em>The Brutalist<\/em> en el 81\u00ba Festival de Cine de Venecia, en 70mm.
